Today I reached my limit with my teenager. But unlike other days I actually wanted to kick some ass. It was very hard to keep my hands to myself. Especially when it comes to the 17 year old. She’s the rudest most disrespectful child. When she was walking away from me I could see myself yanking her back by her hair, dragging her butt to the kitchen and standing there while she washed those pots and pans. I could see myself doing it. And it really scared me. Tomorrow she will lose her car privileges and her phone, her Wifi access and her circle of friends. In 65 days she will be 18. Now in my house my rules are followed, even by those 18 and up. Even those 18 and up can be grounded. Soph seems to be the only one who thinks shes above the rules of the house. In 65 days I can put her out. However, how do I deal until then? I dont want to be reduced to beating her ass. I never liked spanking. I only ever used it as a last resort. In my kids lives they may have been spanked 5 times… total between them. So to anyone who reads this: how do you discipline your teenagers? Please, no judgements. Thanks.
